Drive, playfulness

For a mathematician, maths should be fun. This is the force driving most of the advances in mathematics. What happens when... what if... and all these questions. These days I've talked a few times with Johan Manuel, a colombian mathematician who is here attending a few congresses (RTNS2008 last week, AMDS2008 this week) . He told me some things he had done, and I could see that he enjoyed it a lot, he played with maths. I am not doing it.

My thesis subject is interesting enough, and I could also ask me questions, play with all this knowledge I got inside me during my degree. It just seems I can't... Hope next week is better than this.
